Fashion Picks: Bloggers and Boutiques Edition

I often mention different styles of celebrities and well-known sites for fashion inspiration. However, today I want to show a bit of love to a smaller spectrum.

I am going to highlight some fellow bloggers’ style whom I absolutely adore as well as a few independently owned online clothing boutiques where you can get some pretty unique looks without breaking the bank.

I tend to find a lot of inspiration this way when putting together outfits. Hopefully you love them too!

Texture, neutrals, and intricate cuts are major themes on Fashion Toast’s fashion blog. She does them so well that it’s no wonder she has such a large following. You can keep up with her daily fashion stylings by following her instagram page  as well.

Stylespiration: The Jumpsuit

This past week has been full of award shows and appearances with a lot of fashion successes and fails. One main theme seemed to be the jumpsuit. Jumpsuits have recently come back into popularity and can be found in a wide range of stores, from high-end to more affordable options.

I love the jumpsuit because it is so effortlessly chic and can easily be dressed up or down, depending on one’s mood, occasion, and style.  They also just give off this aura of confidence from the women who wear them and wear them proud.

Here are a few of my favorite looks from celebs this week who have each rocked the jumpsuit in their own unique way:

Stylespiration: Rocking the Platform

One of my many, many current  obsessions  items right now are all things platform. I absolutely adore the way that the chunky platform boots and sandals look when on. If I’m not on the hunt for loafers, then these are the shoes I’m buying in every color imaginable.

These sandals are characterized by their appearance of being a boot, but having a very thick heel, similar to that of the style of the 70s. But, they are not your mother’s retro Saturday night disco boots. These boots have been made more modernized, as pictured below: Modern Platforms

Style Spotlight: Solange

Happy Sunday, odd ducks.

Today’s post of #stylespiration is centered around one of the best currently doing it style-wise, in my opinion: Solange.

But, who is Solange?

In case you have been hiding under a rock or just aren’t keeping up on your popular culture (who can blame you, if you aren’t with all the pseudo celebs out now), Solange is the younger sister of Beyoncé.

Solange has really come into her own person and has made quite a name for herself aside from being just Beyoncé’s little sister. Removing yourself from out of the spotlight of your very talented sibling is a feat that probably isn’t the easiest, but Solange is able to make it all look effortless through her unique music and personal style.

Over the past couple of years, I have become quite a big fan of Solange. Whatever the occasion or event, she sure knows how to shine.

Her style is definitely one of her own; very eclectic and funky. Most of her style choices consist of mixed prints and playing with color, two aspects of fashion that I too love to experiment with.

solangeI mean, just look at that first pantsuit! Some may look at her outfits and shy away from their boldness, but I enjoy the risks that she tasks.

No matter what anyone thinks, one thing is certain: she stays true to her self, and that is what is most important.
